SPOOKS - Series 7 episodes 3 and 4 - 2008
Super 16mm, Kudos for BBC1 . Director: Peter Hoar. Starring: Peter Firth, Hermione Norris, Richard Armitage, Alex Lanipekun, Miranda Raison and Gemma Jones. My first project with the director Peter Hoar, with whom I worked with again later in the year on 'Mistresses'. The approach on 'Spooks' was to mix hand held and longer lenses, to free up the camera so allowing it to follow the action, and to cover each scene from various angles with as many diffrent compositions as possible. The aim was to allow the editor to cut in a pacey and exciting way. This, along with with reflections, obscured views, sillhouettes moody contra-jour I hoped created the right spooks atmosphere.
